We all know Tacoma is a city on the rise to its destined potential. We see it every day. The first European settlement on Puget Sound was at Fort Nisqually. Established in 1833 by the Hudson’s Bay Company, it quickly grew from a remote outpost to a major international trading establishment. It’s a fascinating part of our region’s history.
What better way to learn about the 1800’s than to go back and live it? We spent a day at Metro Parks’ Fort Nisqually, and it was quite the experience.
