Pour one out for our final Tacoma Rainiers Week In Review of the 2022 season. We had some posts noting individual accomplishments this week.
We started things of by welcoming fans to the final homestand of the season, which began on Tuesday.
Wednesday’s post was on the emotional swings that come in extra innings when they place that runner at second base.
Next, we celebrated the walk-off grand slam Drew Ellis hit to win the second game of the series.
Mason McCoy became the first Tacoma player ever to have a 20-homer, 20-stolen base season.
Yesterday’s post was on Rainiers closer Nick Ramirez, who is going to lead the PCL in saves.

Today’s game is the final home game of the season at Cheney Stadium. Speaking for the organization, we’d like to thank you for coming out to the park and seeing the team play this year. The team really improved over the course of the season, and we hope you had fun watching it.
The season isn’t over yet. The team finishes the schedule with three away games at Reno this week: Monday and Tuesday nights at 6:05, and a 12:05 game on Wednesday to wrap-up the campaign. I’ll have the broadcasts for you on the live stream, and daily posts until it all ends on Wednesday.
RAINIERS DAILY
YESTERDAY: The Rainiers three-game winning streak came to an end with a 7-6 loss to Round Rock on Saturday. Mason McCoy, Zach Green, and Forrest Wall each had two hits in the game. Tacoma had injury issues: Brian O’Keefe was hit in the helmet by a pitch in the first inning and left the game (he did walk off on his own power), and Derek Hill left the game for an unspecified reason. This led to reliever Kyle Bird playing four innings in left field, and drawing two walks while never swinging at a pitch.
