Sunday means it’s time for a Tacoma Rainiers week in review, as seen through the lens of… this blog.
The week began with a post on how the Rainiers were bringing hot bats into the homestand opener against Reno.
Wednesday’s post attempted to answer the question, how is Kyle Lewis looking?
On Thursday it was time to react to the Donovan Walton trade.
The next day we celebrated the Rainiers reaching double digits in wins.
Yesterday was another celebration: a second straight win, with Marcus Wilson’s walk-off home run.
RAINIERS DAILY
YESTERDAY: Reno took the series lead with a 9-3 victory over the Rainiers on Saturday evening. Tacoma led 3-2 after four innings, but ex-Rainiers (and Mariners and UW Huskies) outfielder Braden Bishop hit a two-out, three-run opposite field home run in the top of the fifth inning to give Reno the lead, and the Aces never looked back. Kyle Lewis was back in the lineup for Tacoma, going 1-for-4 with a single. Tacoma needs a win today in order to earn its first series split of the season.

- The Mets beat the Mariners late on Saturday, 5-4, to even the series.
- Paul Sewald got some sweet, sweet revenge against his former team on Friday night.
- Baseball America has a story (behind the paywall) analyzing the impact of the enforced pitch clock in the minor leagues. The average time of game across the nation is now 2:34, down from 2:59, with just about the exact same numbers of pitches thrown per game, and runs scored per game. What we have here is the exact same amount of baseball action being played in a shorter period of time, which… tah dah!… makes for a more exciting, entertaining, and watchable sport.
