Tacoma Rainiers Week In Review, July 4-9

We return to our regular Sunday schedule for the Tacoma Rainiers week in review.

Things started off with a literal bang on the Fourth of July, when Zach Green hit three home runs and the Rainiers coasted to a win.

Next the Rainiers continued their recent trend of winning in extra innings. They have won their last four extra innings games.

On Friday we discussed the Rainiers biggest offensive game of the season, their 16-9 win that included 21 hits.

Yesterday’s post was about how the Rainiers need one more win to take the Reno series – which is still the case going into the final game tonight.

Tacoma has a day off on Monday before opening a six-game series against the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Tuesday night at Cheney Stadium. That series will take us into the all-star break – which needs a new name since there is no Triple-A All-Star Game any more. I guess we’ll just call it The Break for now. Our next blog post will arrive on Tuesday afternoon to preview the Dodgers series.
