Rainiers Let One Get Away Sunday, Continue Series at Sacramento Tonight

The Rainiers missed out on a chance to gain ground on first place Reno on Sunday, dropping a 7-5 decision at Sacramento after the Aces had already lost in Salt Lake City. The Rainiers remain 2.5 games behind Reno.

The half-game should disappear tonight, weather permitting. Reno is scheduled to play a makeup doubleheader at Salt Lake, where there has been a lot of rain recently. The Rainiers play a single game here in sunny Sacramento.

Tacoma won the first two games here, but have now lost two in a row and the six-game series is tied, 2-2. Sunday’s game was one that got away, as the Rainiers led throughout the middle innings only to see the River Cats rally in the seventh. Big game tonight for Tacoma, to try to get back on track and secure at least a series split.
