Logan Verrett Has Become Tacoma’s Big Winner

Tacoma starting pitcher Logan Verrett had another solid outing on Sunday night in Reno, going seven innings in the Rainiers 14-4 victory. Verrett earned the win, and he is now 9-3 on the year.

Verrett’s nine wins ties him for the Triple-A West lead. Oklahoma City’s Austin Bibens-Dirkx started the season 9-1, but he has hit a wall and lost his last four starts.

Obviously the Rainiers enjoy having Verrett and his league-leading nine wins in the rotation, but he’s bringing something more important to the table: the ability to beat Reno every time he faces them.

Last night’s win was Verrett’s fourth this year against Reno. When he was previously in the league pitching for Las Vegas, Verrett was a perfect 5-0 against the Aces.

In his career, Verrett has made nine starts against Reno and is 9-0 with a 3.21 ERA.

That’s pretty handy for a Rainiers team in a tight pennant race against the Aces.
